I have a client for whom I need to file a 2020 1040x because of a missing 1099 who also reported unemployment income that is now not taxable. The IRS says not to file a 1040x to claim the unemployment income that tax was paid on, but if I need to file a 1040x anyway, should I correct the unemployment income?
