Is the a way that works to put today's date for the preparer on form 8879 on the 1040?

If you check the box on the 8879 for Check here to generate today's date     it enters for taxpayer, spouse and ERO

But no way to check that box globally? I don't want to have to go into every 8879 and check that box. Need a global selection.

Nope, no global that I know of.

I only want the date for me, the preparer, not for the taxpayers.

There is no way to auto fill just that date.  Has to be manually entered or written in when you sign the form

Right.  I'm here for ProSeries, not the other way around.

Works for business returns, but not 1040's.

I give up.

Thanks, though.
