2441 REJECT ERROR 524 - Name / SSN mismatch

The following was posted last year on February 16 and only says that it was resolved after talking to ProSeries via phone.  Since it's Sunday and that isn't an option.  Is anyone having this issue with 2021 returns or knows a fix.  I have tried all the same things listed - moving the kids around, deleting and re-entering them, etc.  It still throws the error on whomever is child #1.  Thanks for any help you might have.

***********************************

I have a client who has three children present on the return. Two qualify for the child and dependent care credit and I have filled out form 2441 and included the amounts paid for each child on the Info Worksheet. The return keeps getting rejected with error code F2441-524 which says "each Qualifying Person Name Control and and the corresponding Line 2 column b SSN must match data from the IRS Master File". The error states that it's the 1st qualifying child listed on the form that's the problem.

I've double checked the information for each child and confirmed it's correct. However, I removed the first child listed on form 2441 and then added him back in so now he is listed on form 2441 as the second child. I then received the same rejection error for the qualifying child listed on line 1. So I'm getting the same rejection error no matter which child is listed on line 1 of the form which doesn't make sense.

Problem Solved.  After a good part of yesterday working with ProSeries to rebuild and error check all my updates and then this morning with the IRS E-File HelpLine , they were able to hint me toward one of the four kids as best as they could considering what they could share.  I send the mom a note to triple check the spelling and SSN on that kid or to then call SSA to verify since I know they won't talk to me.  She calls back an hour later and says OOPS - the last digit was wrong on the number. Says Oh yeah, now I remember something like this happened a couple years ago but I thought the guy fixed it. Why it took two days of my time for recall to kick in, I don't know, but I also don't have four screaming toddlers hanging on me. Strange thing is I'm looking at the copy of 2020 returns filed by someone else and it all went through OK then.

So anyway, the Reject was Correct, ProSeries was fine (and very helpful), and the cards were just stacked against me.  Thank you all for your help

Have you entered the amount for each dependent on the Information Sheet?  I believe I had a similar situation earlier in the season and that was the problem. When the dependent info is entered there is a box for child care expenses.

Thanks for the suggestion, but YES, the data is all entered on the INFO WKS and flows correctly to the 2441 where the total lines up with the amount paid to the provider.  Everything looks fine and passes the Review, but gets kicked for this name/ssn mismatch after it is sent to the IRS.  Even if I re-order the four kids, the error come back pointing to whomever is child #1.  Still stumped.

Have you tried putting the child age 13 or over on line 1 and see if that helps. Just a shot here. I know how frustrating it is to have something like this just stop all progress this time of year.

Nope, nobody is 13 or over.  All the kids are age 2 to 5, with the 5's being twins.  I tried all different combinations swapping youngest, oldest and splitting the twins with no success.  No matter who is listed first, that's the one the reject code points to.  Hopefully, whatever solved the person's problem last year via phone will work for me tomorrow.  As you can imagine, this is a pretty big refund for this Mom even given the advance credit payments.  You hate to hold it up, especially after they've gone home and thought it was all done.

Thanks for the idea though.
