2022 Tesla Y electric car credit $7500

2022 Tesla Y electric is suppose to get a $7500 tax credit but the software is not

picking it up. I verified that it is entitled to a $7500 tax credit and I've done several

electric car credits in the past and checked that my entries are correct.  Can anyone

shed some light on what I might be doing wrong.

Tesla ran out of credits in 2021 and were a bust for 2022, they brought back the credits in 2023 though.

A 2022 Tesla bought in 2023, would qualify.

Is there any way you can do it by entering an adjustment on the line?

check their AGI - is it too high? We had 1 client this year for EV and it was a Tesla - their income was over the limit for the credit.

Tesla didn't qualify at all for 2022.  And there was no income limit in 2022.

Override to take a credit that doesn't exist?

Really....

Tesla's did NOT qualify for 2022.  Period.  Full stop....

@maui doug - where'd you find documentation that your client's Tesla qualified?

@taxes96786

Yet you post a comment to "override"

FOR a credit that doesn't exist.

I'm just making it obvious that what you suggest isn't correct or allowed.

I believe this has to be the first time a car salesman gave bad tax advice in order to sell a car😬
