There isn't enough room in the space given for the explanation for an amended 2017 NYS return. How can I add a statement to this return which will be efiled. When it was paper, I could just write: see attachment

I'm not familiar with NYS returns but I am familiar with PS software - are you sure you can efile an amended return????? That option isn't available for federal returns yet, surprised your state has that option. Have you tried attaching a PDF with your explanation to the return?
