I am generating a 1041 return for a Grantor Type Trust. When I enter the Name Control at the top of the Fiduciary Information Worksheet I get an error telling me that "Characters in the name control should be in the Name of the Estate or Trust." I am using the Name Control provided by the IRS in the EIN assignment letter. I realize that this code is generally taken from the first 4 characters of the name of the trust or estate, but somehow the IRS apparently took it from the first 4 letters of the Fiduciary's last name.
When I e-file, I can bypass this false error by unchecking the box for error checking, but when I am requesting an eSignature I am given no option to do this.
I have this same issue if I don't fill in the "Date fiduciary signed" boxes, which is a catch-22, since they can't sign it until I get past the error to be able send them the DocuSign request.
How do I bypass false errors in ProSeries so that I can obtain the eSignature?
