I am experiencing an issue with Form 1116 not being included when printing the tax return. Additionally, the software is not generating form 1116-schB for the foreign tax credit carryover, and it is not producing the explanation statement required for form 1116 line 12.
Has anyone encountered this issue or know what might be causing it?
There are times Form 1116 is not required to be filed with the return. You can override the global option as follows: Tools > Options > Miscellaneous and then check the box under Foreign Tax Credit Information.
Thank you for the information provided. I have followed the instructions that you provided but Form 1116 is still not showing in the choose items to print to be printed. I believe it is a software issue
(a) You can print in maually, (b) check your Print Options settings. You may have it set to "if required". you can change it to "if any data".
There is a box to check on the Federal Information worksheet to "File Form 1116 even if taxpayer not required to file form 1116". It's near the bottom of this worksheet. Did you check this box?
I did and it did not print with the tax return.
Is there any credit actually being claimed on the return, or is this just to establish and preserve carryovers?
There is no credit being claimed but for all previous years and up till a week ago, I started to experience this issue. I believe it is a software glitch at this point.
I'm experiencing the same issue. Check box is selected on the info worksheet.
Yep, same issue here. Any resolution?

Hi @tomjhouston and @jordan , did you know that Intuit offers a $100 finder's fee when you report a program glitch that needs to be fixed so that they can prevent others from filing inaccurate returns? So it's worth it to donate your time and effort, at the busiest time of the year, dealing with the people who write the tickets that get passed up the chain.
Oh . . . sorry . . . I was looking at the wrong calendar, this was meant for next Wednesday.
