Employee retention credit

Most of the first artilces I read say to use form 5884, but there sin't any place for the credit. Newer postings say to amend 941's.  Has anyone applied for teh credit on behalf of their client and if so, what was the process?  Thanks

From my understanding of the ERC, you will need to amend 941s.

"to use form 5884"

Well, all of these resources are wrong. They are confusing various types of Business Credits, Work Credits, and the ERC provision (which is Payroll related).

You are asking about a Payroll Tax provision. That's why it is part of Payroll Reporting, not income tax reporting.

Did you resolve this? Here is a Help Article:

https://proconnect.intuit.com/community/salaries-and-wages/help/where-do-i-enter-the-employee-retent...

"This article will help you enter the Employee Retention Credit on your client's income tax return. Although the credit is claimed on payroll filings (Form 944, 941, or equivalents), you may need to adjust amounts on the tax return to account for the credit claimed."
