EIC

Tax payer cannot be declared as a dependent because of his income ($9800) and age (26). However, he lives with his parents who are providing more than 50% of his support with free living expenses, etc. It does not appear he qualifies for the EIC with this parental support.  How do I suppress the EIC in Pro Series

Why suppress it?  What are the qualifications … or disqualifications... of a single nondependent person in being eligible for EITC?

Further research indicates that parental support in of itself is not a disqualification of the EITC as long as the taxpayer meets all other requirements. Thanks
