delay in getting the login screen

When entering ProSeries I get the welcome screen but it usually takes some time before the login screen appears.  In some cases the login in screen pops up behind the welcome screen.  Anyone else having this issue?

I have tried to automatic updates off but I get an error saying I am not the administrator.  It will not let me do it.  I would rather go on every day and do the update myself.  I am a one person operation so not sure what I need to do to call myself the administrator.  Have you been able to turn that off?

Right click on the PS icon when you start it up, you can choose Run As Administrator from there, then you can change the background updates option.

sometimes.  It tends to act weird like that if I have other things running n the background.   Do you have a cloud backup running all the time or anything else that loads up before ProSeries?  I feel like PS dosnt allocate resources very efficiently.

Thank you for the response.  I do not have any backups to a cloud and if I check the Task Manager it shows nothing else running.  Since the software is on my computer I do not think my VPN is an issue.  Thank you again and I am looking forward to filing a few tax returns on the season opening Monday.

I believe if automatic updates is on, it checks for updates before you can sign in.

Rainman1966, pending updates will be applied while launching ProSeries, hence the delay.
You can turnoff automatic updates by running ProSeries as administrator, right click and run as administrator..
