California mandatory epay

KevinRRiley

In California, when business entities pay by check and submit a voucher, the state will assess them a whopping 10% penalty.  For individuals the penalty is 1%.  The problem is that Lacerte continues to print payment vouchers when, if used, the client will get an immediate 10%/1% penalty.  The state has also not been abating these penalties.  My wild idea is this.  Lacerte development team... when we preparers mark the box that the client is subject to mandatory epay. PLEASE DO NOT PRINT THE PAYMENT VOUCHERS FOR ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF TO PRINT OUT FOR CLIENTS TO USE.  I can not tell you how many times i have gotten the call "well your staff gave me the voucher and i used it"

This is an issue for corporate and s-corporate modules, but there may be other modules that are ignoring the mandatory epay rule in California.

Thank you. Nice idea Kevin. I voted for it.  I would like LC to have a tag or filter for California issues so that we can filter and view ideas about California.
