Check this box if you were a homeowner on October 1, 2006
Could someone tell me what the input box for this is such that's it's checked on the return?
Thanks in advance
If it's just an informational checkbox (no affected tax calculations), check it in pen.
It's unlikely anyone here has 2006 NJ installed, and if right-click Jump to Input doesn't find it, you're asking for a lot of effort to install the program and hunt for an input.
Yes, I understand. I was hoping some NJ tax preparer might have the answer.
It is supposed to indicate for the purposes of the (formerly known as) Homestead Rebate that you owned the residence at that date.. You still had to file the HR form.
The box still exists. Now it's called ANCHOR benefit.
ps NOT checking the box does NOT mean you cannot get the rebate.
Thanks for this. What line under the Detail tab needs to be completed to make sure this box is checked?
I don't use Lacerte, so I can't help you. In Pro Series, when we need to check a box, we just...
Check the box.
Still looking for an answer here -
@GLReneau Where is this check box on the return? What form? What page? What line?
If you can see the form and the box in Lacerte, then you should be able to RIGHT CLICK and select JUMP TO INPUT. Have you tried that?
