Getting this diagnostic in Lacerte 2025. We were able to supersede California tax returns in Lacerte 2024.

I just called Lacerte and they are no help. They just read the diagnostic back to me and said to file an amended return. They couldn't even answer me if this was a Lacerte issue or California does not allow e-filed superseded returns. However, from what I found online California does allow superseded e-filed returns and I was able to do this last year in Lacerte. I am so disappointed in Lacerte this year.

Hi @radio4,
Thanks for posting your question! Here’s a support article that may help with this:
E-filing Superseded Returns in Lacerte
If you look at the top in the call out box it says "are limited to Federal only."
If you need further assistance with this we would reach out to Lacerte Support, as they can best help with your specific situation.
Looking forward to seeing more of your contributions in the community!

Katie, I understand that Lacerte is not letting us supersede California returns (hence this post). But why? California has allowed electronically filed superseded returns for a few years and you had this service last year. Having to paper file the California superseded return in this electronic age...
Dscott, California does allow e-filed superseded returns.
