How to batch e-file returns in ProConnect Tax
by Intuit•4• Updated 2 weeks ago
A new feature in ProConnect Tax allows you to save time by eliminating the need to individually e-file each return. This becomes even more beneficial as the number of clients in the firm increases.
Adding a return to a batch
- Select a tax return you want to add to the batch e-file and go to the File Return tab, then select +Add to batch e-file.
- Repeat this process for all the returns you want to add to the batch e-file.
- Once you successfully add a return to a batch, the return will be locked and protected from further modifications.
- The return can only be unlocked by removing it from batch.
- Manual unlock will not be available for those returns.
Important notes:
- All agencies must be selected. Partial selection is not allowed while adding a return to a batch.
- You'll need to resolve all critical/fatal diagnostics before adding a return to a batch.
709 Gift returns and restricted returns are unavaliable for batch e-filing.
E-filing a batch
- Select the Batch actions dropdown menu on the top right.
- Select Batch return e-filing
- You'll see a list of all the returns previously added to the batch e-file. Select the ones you're ready to e-file, then select E-file now.
- Note: Only Master Admin and Users with eFile access permissions will be able to eFile returns. See here to learn more about user permissions.
- After submitting, you can track its progress by selecting Batch e-filing history under the Batch actions dropdown
