On the 1099 misc entry form why does the software ask for schedule c? Client received 1099misc from an insurance company as a claim and 4000 is on box 3 other income. The software is asking for schedule c info. How can this be resolved?

You did not specify which software you use. But is there not a box for "other income"?
software is proseries. yes on box 3 for other income, i entered the amount however, it is insist schedule C info/entry
The 1099MISC worksheet has an area for Box 3 income to be input, then check the box below it as Other Income.
