2021 Returns With A Grain of SALT

BobKamman
Level 15

So now BBB goes to the Senate, which may or may not amend the $80,000 limit on the deduction for state and local taxes, and then may or may not pass a version that is acceptable to the House. This might happen before the end of the year, or the government might be shut down because of debt limits or lack of continuing appropriations.

I won’t be surprised if there is a Senate amendment excluding unemployment for 2021, but then I won’t be surprised if there is not.

I think I’ll find a beach somewhere I can relax until March 1, at which time I will return to my office and start doing tax returns once we know the law and have the forms.
