Will Intuit be adding multi-factor authentication to ProSeries DMS as soon as possible?
Multi-factor authentication (MFA) is now a federal requirement to protect clients' sensitive information. Effective June 2023, the FTC's safeguards rule mandates MFA to strengthen account security by requiring more than just a username and password. Currently, MFA is not available for DMS (Document Management System).
Under the new FTC rules, at least two authentication factors must be used to access customer information. This requirement extends to securing client information on tax professionals' computers, networks, and within tax preparation software. Opting out of using MFA is prohibited.
