Pro Series needs to include Federal Form 8082

In order to amend a electronically filed Form 1065 (year 2020 and later) aka an AAR, you are required to attach Form 8082. Making us prepare & file Form 8082 as a pdf is a waste of valuable time. (Also your instructions for Amending an efiled Form 1065 do not mention the Form 8082 requirement which can cause accountants to file incomplete amended Form 1065's.)

If you're doing an AAR you are not doing an amended return.

Of course. Pro series, however, calls it an Amended 1065.

If they don't even know what it is, maybe that's why they don't offer the form.

so what is the solution for this? Can the 8082 be mailed in? I have to do one for 2020 also since client received ERC tax credit based on 2020 wages, but didn't tell me before we filed the 2020 return

From what I understand, you can attach the Form 8082 (downloaded from the IRS) as a pdf..

In my case, we are making a late 754 election with 12 months  "Filed Pursuant to Reg. Section 301.9100-2" . This statement has to be noted on the top of the necessary pages. As Proseries does not have provision for noting this on the first page of a Form 1065 included in an electronically filed AAR, I need to paper file the AAR on a Form 1065-X.with AAR marked.

How do we get Proseries to add the ability to file an AAR whether on a 1065-X or Form 8082?

OK, so are you saying to electronically file an amended form 1065 and to attach a PDF form 8082 to that return? Assume that the payment could be made electronically as well

I believe so. That's what I found when I researched it. Please check for yourself. (See IRS Form instruction etc.)
