Preparation of Forms RD-108 and RD-108B for Kansas City, MO

larryboeshart

The City of Kansas City MO requires forms RD-108 & RD-108B to be filed for anyone or entity that has a business with income that is taxable to the City.  The aforementioned schedules are available for preparation for the individuals that file form 1040 and have a Schedule C business return as a part of the federal filing.  But when you go to the filings for 1120, 1120S or 1065 that capability is not available.  I have mentioned this defect for several years and nothing has been done.  For the 2023 filing these particular forms are required to be filed electronically with Kansas City.  Pro Series not does not have the capability of generating the form let alone the capability to file electronically.  This is a SERIOUS SERIOUS deficiency in the Pro Series package for MO.  There should not be a major problem to give the capability to prepare the forms for the business entities since this is already handled in the individual package.  This is a defect that should be given extremely high priority to remedy.  I am very satisfied with Pro Series overall but this lack of capability to meet the Kansas City requirements is extremely disappointing.  I have been a customer for years and I would hope steps would be taken ASAP to remedy this.

I completely agree! I'm completing a Kansas City return for one of my S-Corp clients, and I'm unable to generate information from this entity on the RD108 & RD108B...the only options are for Schedule C and E. Please remedy this issue

I'm trying to prepare a simple RD-109 in Pro Series Professional.  The form comes up, and there's a even a box for e-filing.  Great!  I go to prepare the actual form, and no information flows through, have to type it manually.  Then, there's an error for e-file that will not go away.  Check the box to e-file on state return, error.  Uncheck the box, same error.  Furthermore, filling out the form then printing the form only does print the form, but with no data.

This was basically a big tease.  They show the form, brag that it can be e-filed, I spent time preparing it, now find out it was misleading.  Good idea ProSeries, to add the form RD-109.  Bad marketing ProSeries, to add the form but make it non-functional.  Got me again!
