How would Intuit know it's a correction and not a different taxpayer?

If you're truly just correcting a typo and get charged twice, you can contact them and they should give you credit.

It's how Intuit controls billing.  As Susan says, how would they know you aren't using one FEIN for several clients?

Verify the number (run a batch tape to check your data entry) before submitting.

IF there's a mistake, you can go to 'myaccount' to request a refund, on-line.  You no longer have to call them.
