The e-file acknowledgement shows that the TP's tax return was accepted by the IRS but the IRS says no tax return was filed.

TP received a notice from the IRS that her 2018 tax return was not filed yet. Her e-file acknowledgement shows that the IRS accepted her return on 7/11/19.

This is a first for me. Has anyone dealt with this issue before? Where is the disconnect?

Thanks.

I'm thinking calling support is your only route at this point.

Is this for a 1040 or a different type of return?   Feels like I saw something similar for an S-Corp return on a message board somewhere.

Sorry - it's a 1040.

Are you sure the notice is for 2018? It seems awfully early for IRS to be sending that. Maybe 2017?

for a 1040 I agree....awfully early for a request unless maybe an extension was filed with a  big payment?

Yes, it's for 2018. The TP went to her account on the IRS website to inquire about her refund and then she received the IRS letter in her online account replying to her request dated today, 10-28-19.

Thanks for your help.

Id pull the submission ID # from the Form 9325 in the client file then either call the Tax Practitioner Hotline, or will E-Services help with something like that?

Well, maybe check with support first, like IronMan suggested. At least do that before having to get a POA signed from the TP.

Same is happening to me right now, UGH.

2019 9325 say accepted on 5-22-2020. But on IRS account, says no return filed and no transcript for that year. (even says will produce letter to verify NO RETURN FILED!!!)

I can see submission to Fresno and accepted date.... So I should call ProSeries Support as well before calling IRS. I already have POA on client....
