Why is the client phone number and date not printing on the filer 1040?

Why would you ever put client's phone number on the 1040?  When client gets call from bogus scam IRS, I always tell them there is no way IRS knows their number because it is not on your return.

Because there isn't any room for it.  When the went to the postcard approach, it was like a family of 6 going from a Suburban to a Subaru.
