I’ve got a fairly decent imagination…. No idea… you’re the tax preparer and your client sold stock?
If they sold the stock from their employee stock purchase plan, you should have a 1099B as well.
Is this publicly traded stock? If not, and if you have accurate basis information, I’d report the sale non covered no 1099b . No way would it prepare a 1099B.
