I update every day. But if ProSeries does an update (making this up) at 2:15pm and I e-file at 2:20pm it tells me my version is not current. I just wasted time clicking on multiple clients to e-file. Besides updating every time I want to e-file is there any way to know whether we have to update BEFORE we e-file - like a version warning on anything? I assume the answer is no. This always happens when I'm e-filing a zillion returns at once.

I see that proseries is updating in the background sometimes (I too hit update every morning just to be sure) and I get an alert on the side of the homebase and it says update available restart - check if you are getting an update alert before you efile. I don't really mind the automatic updates, but I wish they would just do them at a set time either early morning or later in the evening not in the middle of the day.
