Dear ProSeries,
Following are several issues related to ProSeries for the year 2024. I had many of the same issues for the year 2023, but I thought they would be fixed for the year 2024. They were not.
1. For the MA fiduciary income tax returns (Form 2), the MA muni-bond interest entered on the federal information screen of Form 1041 is not carried over as an exclusion on line 7a of Schedule B on Form 2. I have to manually enter the amount.
2. When printing the MA estimated tax payment vouchers for individuals (Form 1-ES) and fiduciaries (Form 2-ES), the information on the left hand side of the vouchers (including tax year, social security number, etc.) are cut off. I had to reduce the printer properties each time in order to get the vouchers to print properly.
3. On the Massachusetts Individual Tax Declaration for Electronic Filing form (Form M-8453), the space available in the signature section for the spouse in Part 2 is substantially smaller than the section for the taxpayer. I have to manually fix this using my pdf editor program before providing this form to my married clients.
4. The entire formatting of the 2024 gift tax returns is a mess. I can't begin to list all of the errors when the Form 709 is printed. I had to manually fix/adjust all Form 709s I prepared for the year 2024. Everyone should be refunded the price of the 2024 Form 709. It was that bad.
5. The font on DMS for certain pages of the Massachusetts income tax returns is different than the federal pages. The font is darker and a very different font from the federal pages which is hard to read. Printing the Massachusetts income tax return directly from ProSeries to a printer is fine. But, if I need to send a .pdf copy of the Massachusetts income tax return to a client, the different fonts look unprofessional.
6. I wish ProSeries would fix the estate tax return program (Form 706) so every single schedule of the Form 706 does not say "See Attached." I wish the estate tax return program would only do this if there is not enough space on any applicable schedule. But, even when I use the letters N/A, ProSeries says "See Attached" on the schedule and then prints a separate page reflecting the letters N/A. I have to manually fix all the Form 706 returns I prepare to not include this wording if the information will fit on the actual schedules provided.
7. I wish ProSeries DMS would provide for two-factor authentication as now required by the IRS. I will be searching for a new document management system this year.
Thank you.
A long-time customer.

Since the calendar is sitting on October 1st, the chances of any of your issues being looked at for the 2024 program are somewhere between zilch and none.
Since you say many of the issues are duplicates from the 2023 package, have you ever tried talking to support about the issues?
Did @Intuit_Ruben follow up with you?
