Taxpayer is a resident alien. He receives Canadian Survivor benefits for himself and his son, due to the death of his wife. Are his payments or the minor child's payments taxable to the US? He does not pay tax on these benefits to Canada.
If they are taxable, how are they reported on the 1040? Other Income?
Thanks for any guidance on this issue.
