If a individual moves from one state to another which state would require income taxes paid from income received from a 1099 that is used as Sch C income?

Client moved from one state to another and is receiving 1099 income from the original state.

The state(s) where the income was earned. So, first state.

If income is received while resident in the other state, it is also reportable on the other state's return although a credit could generally be claimed for taxes paid to the first state.
