Hi all,
Thanks in advance for your ideas. I am looking to have a help with tax return data entry this tax season. My ProSeries Professional is hosted to available to add a user. I need help with individual tax return data entry, majority in NJ but also significant number of other states. I do not want an employee, but rather an independent contractor (the work can be paid by the project if needed to meet that specification).
What are other firms doing? Is there anyone interested in additional work Feb-April?
Best,
Trina
Yes definite will be disclosing! Thank you for asking.
Make sure your state allows you to hire for this position as an independent contractor, I know in CA, that person would have to be an employee (theyd also have to be registered with the California Tax Education Council (but thats purely a CA thing).
Thank you.
I'm available February 4th from 10am-11am. Rest of tax season - nope........
Actually, if you're looking for just data entry you could always get an accounting student at a local community college or as I've done, a high school student that wants to go into accounting. Downloading, sorting of documents, data entry might all be of interest to them and in high school they can earn credit. I would make them employees and in-house for the work and the training.
Thanks for your thoughts. I had an intelligent college student last year as my seasonal employee. I don't want to go that route again. I don't want an employee and there would still be significant training for the same college student. I am looking for independent contractor with experience. Happy to pay accordingly.
You may want to check out Accountingfly. I got a solicitation email 2 weeks ago to see if I was searching for temporary help for Tax Season. I have not yet used them so cannot recommend, but it is a potential resource.
On their site it allows you to search and screen freelancers, so that may be a way to go if you do not want an employee on payroll.
