Need some advise on the following:
Current client (taxpayer) who is a legal resident in the US with a SS number married a Canadian legal residence (spouse) who worked and lived in Canada for all of 2021. The spouse was waiting on his green card and finally got it in early 2022 and now lives and works in the US with his US wife. Spouse has a SS number now. Taxpayer has a normal W-2 and spouse has a Canadian T4. Spouse has taken care of his Canadian tax return.
Taxpayer would like to file a MFJ return with her spouse. What would be the best strategy to look into? Foreign tax credit for the Canadian tax paid on Canadian income or foreign earned income exclusion?

I googled:

and got great results.
