You are close, but you are off by two letters - schedule D is going to do the trick for you.

I thought the 8949 flowed to the Schedule D. Maybe we could start a conversation about it. 

And was this a rental, or business property?

go to schedule D, then use 1099B worksheet, which will flow to the correct form
