Retirement planning

I see that sometime last night, I crossed over the 30,000 thumb plateau.  So that got me thinking about retirement.  Based on my age, if I retire next year the 30,000 thumbs would mean that I could withdraw 122 thumbs per month to live on.  I think that is enough to get me by, but I was just looking for a little advice.  Should I take the 30,000 and roll them over into toes or should I stick with thumbs?  I'm not sure if you can do a tax free exchange to knees or elbows but my barber told me that a rollover to toes would be a good move.  Anybody have any thoughts on the matter?

It's not my area of expertise but I heard on Tik Tok that it's bad to be "all thumbs".  Barbers generally have great advice on this but you may also want to get a second opinion from at least one bartender.  Or really any profession that starts with "bar".  Barbarians.  Barnstormers.  Barytones.  Bar hose cleaners.

I tried asking a bardolater but all I got for an answer was - "to be or not to be, that is the question".  That really didn't help me much.

Jeff, 'ethically' you should really deduct all those *thumbs down* from way back when they were a part of this forum.  If that takes you too low to retire, just let me know.  I'll give you some of mine.

I don't think I ever received a thumbs down.  At least I don't remember getting any of those.  Back then everybody had a really good sense of humor and always appreciated my posts............................ But then again, I am getting older and my memory may not be as good as it used to be 😜

Now I'm worried about you & your memory .... is it the lutefisk or the Minnesota cold?

*Shirley* you remember the bru-ha-ha over those downward thumbs; all of us old-timers do.  😘

Oh those.  I forgot they were downward thumbs -------------- I thought those were just some unhappy folks giving us the finger 😀

I would ask a carpenter.  Sometimes they have missing appendages and might be able to get you going in the right direction.  If that fails, ask the lawncare folks.  lol.

Carpenters might be ok, but I don't know about the lawncare people.  They drive lawnmowers around in circles all day so I don't know if they have a good sense of direction.  🤔

I vote for taking advice from your barber, but only if he does not accept any payment method other than cash!

Those are obviously the smart ones so you do need to listen to them.  Everybody knows if you receive cash, it isn’t taxable.

George - that isn't very polite, but then again I guess it is more polite than another finger that you could have used.

I was just trying to reduce the number of thumbs up so you would not retire. I would greatly miss you.

You aren't going to have to miss me.  I don't know what the word retirement even means.  I don't drink Fireball, but if that's what it takes for me to be doing this as long as Mr Fireball, I will work on developing a taste for it. 😁

Practice with rubbing alcohol and cinnamon, for the acquired taste. Do I need to put in a disclaimer about the above statement, someone on the internet may try it!

I think you are safe.  Now, if we were getting close to April 15th, I would say you probably should add the disclaimer just to be safe.
