Client is claiming her 21 yr old daughter who goes to school in Oregon and comes home during the summer and works for those months in California. So do I mark her for (Lived with tax payer in the U.S.) Parents pay for all tuition and living expenses.

Then the 21yr old worked in both states and has to file her taxes as being claimed as a dependent but how do i put her status in for living? If she lives in Oregon for 9 months out of the year for school?

Being away at school is a "temporary absence" and does not change your domicile.

She is still a CA resident.

The more I know, the more I don't know.

If the parents are paying for all tuition and living expenses, what is she doing with the money she earns by working year-round?

Not that it matters, for taxes.  Or maybe it would, if she is providing more than half her own support.

She only made 13200 for the year that is definitely not enough to support herself
