    W-2 Error

    JudieS
    Level 1

Entered W-2 for client in 2024. Client is a NH resident and worked in NH. As you all know NH has no personal income tax. However, I have an error on the for, where it has auto populated box 16 with the income, and populated NH for the state. It is giving an error because it wants the STATE EIN. If I try to delete the information, it automatically repopulates. Getting extremely frustrated.

    Try overriding it,

It that works, just ignore the override warning when you transmit the return.

Override is greyed out. So that does not work. It makes no sense that the program thinks NH has a state return.

don't click the auto calculate box on the w2 and just enter manually - it should ignore the state then

or I put the federal EIN number in for the state if all else fails
