I have switched to ProSeries due to issues with VA PTET filings. I have filed federal returns in another software and they have been accepted. Can I just file Virginia returns in ProSeries?
VA is NOT a piggyback state, so yes, you should be able to EF a VA state return alone on its own.
Im not familiar with VA or PTET filings so whether you'll run into similar issues with PS as you did with your other software in this respect, Im not sure, I know I have seen other posts regarding issues getting PTET entries to flow properly in the software.
How can a start a return with a Virginia form for 1120-S, 1065 and 1040? I find you have to first open a federal return.
You DO have to recreate the federal return in order to create the state return, but you could EF the state return on its own....so it would be extra work, but it can be done.
Thanks! I will give that a try.
