T/P was a resident of NJ through April 2019, moved to UK and married an Italian citizen in October 2019. How to input MFS but not include T/P spouse's Info.

No one seems to have been able to e-file MFS returns using PS where the NRA spouse doesn't have an ITIN (for the lack of a checkbox available in both Lacerte and PTO). Seems like your only option is to paper-file the return.
By paper.
last year with the 2018 filings and before we were able to e-file by changing the efiling preferences.
this is the first year that it wont accept the e-filing. I Hopo Intuit fixes this, remember the IRS is not processing paper returns at this time, and no telling when they will be able to do so.
So please Fix, and let us e-file without the checking.
Why assume this is an Intuit issue? They can only send what IRS is willing to receive, and IRS can (and probably did) change the rules at any time.
It is a software issue for PS. Lacerte and PTO both have a checkbox to indicate that the spouse is an NRA, which enables the return to be e-filed without a TIN for spouse.
Any news in fixing the ability to e-file a return w/o the id of a foreign spouse, when filing MFS?
JUst let us e-file by skipping the error check and the return goes trough, the IRS instructions do stipulate that in this cases one should use "NRA" for foreign spouse, if applicable.
Most people that file in this manner usually live abroad, and now more than ever we need to be able to get electronic signatures and doe e-filing for these taxpayers.
PS let us know when this will be resolved.
@LEHHate to be the bearer of bad news. But it is unlikely that Intuit will "fix" this issue over a thread. This forum here is a donation box for charity (meaning, you put in your two-cents to help out other fellow users).
The wishing well is on the other side - you will recognize it when you see it. It's full of coins tossed in by other users, hoping their dreams would come true one day. Like I said before, Intuit could easily harvest these coins for a handsome profit but they would rather leave them in the well, pristine and largely untouched.
But you never know, your lucky star may just be shinning on you today. So, make your wish and toss in your coin.
