Updated list of tax returns prepared by you and your competitors

Here it is. based on 2023 tax year.  In third place but really would be in first place considering the firms above me have multiple preparers!  The location should populate already but if not, Medina, Ohio zipcode 44256.  You can enter your own info and see how you are doing compared to your competitors in your own area:

Woohoo.  I win.  I'm the only one in my zip code!  Small towns!

Just curious - what is the population of your town?

There are 561 residents but of course we work with surrounding towns, mail ins and such.   I checked my #s against the larger neighboring town and I actually prepare and file more returns than most.

Kinda fun to see.

That is small ---------------- but congratulations on being number 1!

@IRonMaN Your EA friend in Colorado did 618 returns with an 89% approval rate.  I can remember the years I did that many returns.  Meanwhile, I checked my home (not office) ZIP code and the HRB office across the street is not even listed.  I thought I saw people going in and coming out of there, but maybe they truck the data somewhere else.

the year listed on that link shows 2023.. not real clear if that means tax year 2023 or returns efiled in the year 2023... if you change the 2024 in the url on that link to 2025 a different list comes up

Obviously it does not count mailed in returns. But there must be other items included as their numbers are different than mine.  And there is one preparer I know who does less than me but is listed higher.  Could e-filed estimated tax payments count (I don't do any)? It's not extensions as my numbers would be much larger. Anyone have info on how they get this number?

"Your EA friend in Colorado"

For the record, I have zero EA friends in Colorado. 😮

"Anyone have info on how they get this number?"

Random number generator.  My numbers are significantly inflated so I have no clue where they came from.

Sorry, @IRonMaN , I confused you with @abctax55 , who was trying to make friends with her by responding to her October 15 post.

Mine are significantly inflated too 😉 but I'll take that as a compliment being a solo preparer! ha-ha

Oh, I like this info so much. I just warned a new resident about the firm that shows first on our local list!
