Why on one of my tax returns did the IRS take away the SS reduction tax

What is this "SS reduction tax"? It sounds great, I'd like MY SS tax reduced 😉
You mean the SE tax deferral? If the return had a refund on it, you weren't allowed to defer the SE tax, since you cant defer something thats already been paid.
Yep... I'm guess that's what the OP meant. BUT, words, *specific* words are important in this profession.
Deferral & reduction do NOT mean the same thing 🙂
