ProSeries just attached Italy as the mailing address for every return. Every one. And then it just deleted all spouse information in the return I was working on. Thankfully I had a backup. No updates today. What the h**l happened?
every client file you opened shows they live in Italy?
My VPN connected me to someplace in Germnay, and then it updated my time zone on the computer!
Every return I looked at (about 10). G-d is toying with me.
Unfortunately it's not funny. I had to delete all clients and restore from backup. and then the wiping of all spouse information. None of this makes sense.
Thats crazy, how does that even happen?
@IntuitGabi how can this even be a possibility?
I did get prompted to Update the program earlier today, a little slide out in the bottom right corner told me updates were ready, so maybe there was an update?
EDIT: Yes an update installed today!!
It’s funny on January 1st, not April 8th. Out of curiosity, do you have any clients that actually do have addresses in Italy or have any source documents with Italian addresses.
No. I had a foreign exchange student from Italy over a decade ago. I have clients in France, Switzerland, Uganda, China and Japan. Nothing in Italy.
Then of course the dreaded, child filed himself and got parent's rejected. Client wants to call up the IRS and have them find his return and change it over the phone.
And then another client sold his pig at a 4-H event. Got a 1099 for it. What's the cost basis of a pig?
Time to retire or have a heart attack - whichever comes first.
Thanks for the information @dascpa @Just-Lisa-Now-. Let me know if more comes up for you on this. Thanks.
Dear Sir, if you are currently on the pay per return tax preparation package there is currently a 20% tariff on returns with Italy tax payers. Kindly remit this with your next month's bill. And god forbid if they bring wine back. It will soon be hit with 100% tariff.
Thanks you, Intuit Billing Staff
In Maryland the Dems tried for 3rd or 20th time to make accounting and tax services subject to sales tax. It failed again. I'll be happy to charge my overseas clients a 20% fee.
Found one (only non-1040) 1065 with the Italy issue too. Can't be malware. And unless I pissed of ProSeries in one of my posts why would they screw with me. Totally weird.
