qbi losses

two years ago client filed joint with her husband. his return showed a loss of $88000. This year she is ffiling head of house without the husband and shows an $83000 income. but on her return this year the loss carried forward eliminating her from taking the qbi on the $83000 because the loss carry forward from when she filed joint with him of $88000, though it was his loss on his return but because she filed joint pro series carried it forward to her 2024 return and thus eliminating her from taking the qbi on her return. How can we eliminate the loss from her return (net of an override feature) or can they split the loss on each of their current returns. he does not use pro series nor me as his accountant.

If they no longer live together and she's filing separate from him, why is his Sch C and QBI info still on her return.  Remove those and that should fix your issue.
