Hey Everyone,
Is anyone else able to install ProSeries on Server 2012 R2 or Windows 8.1? It looks like the update server hosted by Intuit/Akamai isn't using TLS 1.2 cipher suites supported by 2012r2 or 8.1.

Hi @HL , we don't think the ciphers are what's causing the issue.
Could you zip up the files in C:\ProgramData\Intuit\ProSeries\Install\TY20\Logs
and send them to proseries_engineering@intuit.com?
And to answer your question.. you are the 3rd person I know of who's run into this - and it affects install and update. We got your logs and very much appreciate the assistance.
Note-
I have a workaround for updates. It's sort of a back door, so I can't publish it.. DM if you (or anyone else) are experiencing this issue with updates. A convenient way to test is to
- Go to your start menu
- Type "Internet Explorer"
- Try this url: https://ftpfp.proseries.com/pub/proseries/check.txt
if you get an error there ,but not in chrome or firefox.. you are experiencing this specific issue (we aren't directly using Internet Explorer, but we use Microsoft Plumbing that's in common)
For installs we're working on putting in a work around. Or if you have the DVD.. install with that, and I'll give you update workaround - you'll be set until we sort this out.
@HL, will you try again and let us know if it's resolved
