Per Diem

I have a client that drives truck for a company and does not get per diem is there any way to claim it?  I believe it's already figured into the higher standard deduction??? I know you can if you are an owner operator but I can't see a way for a company driver.

Guessing client is receiving W2.  You are right, Unreimbursed employee expenses are no longer available as Itemized deduction.

It's gone on the federal but maybe available on your state return?

@IRonMaN @Pam4 @dkh check the state rules as they may differ... Pennsylvania only allows actual expenses paid. Just my opinion
