    Payment of income taxes online

A client has asked me to pay his income taxes online the same time as I e-file his returns.  If I authorize the IRS and state taxing authority to debit his account, will I receive a confirmation of payment when I e-file the return?

No, and the IRS may take the money a few days before the date you put in, or a few days later. Have client check his bank.

No, nor should you.   That's between the tax agency and the taxpayer. You're just submitting the information to the tax agency along with the tax return.

The taxpayer will need to watch their account to be sure the tax agency did what was requested when the return was filed.
