I doubt it, and if there was, which day that you open the form would want it to use.
In a whole tax season I probably never actually get the taxpayer's signature on the 8879 on the same day the return was prepared/finalized. And you can't enter that date until the Taxpayer has authorized you to do it on their behalf.
It used to auto insert the date, then they took it away a few years ago.
Oddly, the California 8879 inserts the date for my signature, so I only have to write the date on the federal one..
