I appreciated the links and additional insight into the currently supported ProSeries 1065 forms.
Historically I have had to print and send Form 7004 for Form 8804 via certified mail. The current address per the most recent IRS Form 7004 instructions (i.e. Rev. December 2018):
IRS Center
PO Box 409101
Ogden, UT 84409
This is not an ideal work around. I have heard of some tax preparers using ProSeries to e-file the Form 7004 for Form 1065 with an attachment of another Form 7004 for Form 8804.
I am concerned that the IRS will not accept the Form 7004 for Form 8804 in this manner. In addition, there does not seem to be any guidance in the message boards or a job aid regarding this approach / solution. As the penalties for a delinquent Form 8804 can become unwieldy, I am probably going to play it safe and use the post.
ProSeries is a great product but I would love to see this functionality added.
Any Form 1065 filer with a foreign partner who would like to file an extension will also be required to file an extension for their Form 8804. If a tax prepare using ProSeries is unaware of this requirement, the client fallout could be substantial.
Form References
Form 1065 - Return for Partnership Income
Form 8804 - Annual Return for Partnership Withholding Tax (Section 1446)
Form 7004 - Application for Automatic Extension of Time to File Certain Business Income Tax...
Other Forms of Note (if you have a foreign partner)
Form 8805 - Foreign Partner's Information Statement of Section 1446 Withholding Tax
Form 8813 - Partnership Withholding Tax Payment Voucher

If you need more time, you can file Form 7004 to request an extension of time to file Form 8804.

If you look under the 1065/forms tab is does not appear that ProSeries supports that form.
