Yup. That should work.
The system tells me: None of the return(s) for the selected client are eligible for eSignature.
Which return series are you filing?
What does the diagnostic say exactly?
I'm filing a 2022 1040X. Exactly what I typed before is the error message it's giving me. In the eSignature field on the Homebase screen, it says "Completed". I'm sure it's referring to the original complete eSignature from the original 1040 filing. Not sure how to change it so it allows to request a new signature like it normally would when filing a 1040.
If that's a system limitation, perhaps get the F.8879 e-signature(s) outside of DocuSign?
I'm thinking I can save the Amended 8879 as a separate PDF by itself and then upload it to DocuSign manually and then request a signature that way. Good idea?
Now that I think about it, how would the IRS see the Amended 8879??????
They won't unless they ask to see it. Keeping the form is part of the tax preparer's responsibility for document retention.
Ok. I'm guessing my manual upload idea to DocuSign could work then.
Yup. That should work.
Awesome! Thank you for your time and assistance.
