FORM 1095A

Good evening online community,

This is a taxpayer, 23 years old, full time student, who made around 14ooo a year. The problem is that the 23 year old has his own 1095A under his name. He was claimed as a dependent. How do you report the allocation of the 1095A amounts. It looks like the 1095A has to be reported in the parents return because he was dependent of the parents. At least that is what the software suggests. I know cases where the person is not dependent but it is under their parent's policy but this is something different, the person is a dependent but has his own 1095A. It looks like dependents can not allocate any policy. Could somebody explain a little bit? it will be appreciated.

Thank you everybody.

You are correct.  The dependent is part of the parents household and the 1095 goes on their return not his.
