When a return is filed electronically, does the IRS get access to all the worksheets and everything in the client file or just the active forms?
Lucky Them......
If you print the Filing Copy, you'll see what IRS gets (assuming you havent customized what prints along with the filing copy)
As far as I know whatever prints out for the copy to be filed is exactly what the IRS and States receive. In my experience it is a good idea to keep the same exact copy that was e-filed as the tax preparer copy and the same for taxpayer copy given to them. All three copies identically the same. That way everyone knows exactly what was transmitted with the electronically filed returns. But that's just my preference.
The get what the filed copy shows. Just the 1040, Schedules other main forms and elections. And they only, actually, see the line # and amount.
