efile 2019 proseries basic

Experimenting with the new efile rules for amended federal returns. When I check the box to file an amended 2019 return,  I get met with "cannot electronically file except for 2019." But I am using a 2019 return for this experiment. Am I correct that the Proseries Basic program is not yet ready for prime time amended efile?

On another topic, I have been getting messages that internet explorer is no longer supported by Microsoft. Will this be a problem for 2020 Proseries?

Have you prepared the 1040X yet?   

I get that message when I dont have the 2019 box checked on the 1040X yet.

Perfect! That answers my question. The instructions for efiling amended returns should be changed to tell preparers to check the 2019 box first on the 1040X before they check the amended box in Part VII of the information worksheet.

Agreed, the instructions are not in the correct order to avoid this message.

Can someone get this to the Content Department, the instructions are not in the correct order to avoid this error message.  Numbers 8 and 9 should come before number 6.
