Here in the Online Community? I know it wasnt working for a long time, maybe it still doesnt, it just dumps you right back to page 1.
I started opening pages in a new window (right click, open in new window or tab) to avoid using the back button.

Nope. Just click the small x and it will do what you asked. This is because it's a windows layer-based program. Screen on top of screen.
