I have two clients now whose direct payments on their 1040 did not occur on April 15th. In this case they wanted it to and now they are concerned about their stimulus checks being withheld.
I have checked the bank account information and it is correct. Does anyone else have direct pay / autopay on the 1040 that did not occur?

First look at Form 9325 in the clients file and see if it shows they were accepted....then you can call the EFW automated number and inquire about the payments to see if they are in the system

Call IRS e-file Payment Services 24/7 at 1-888-353-4537 to inquire about or cancel your payment, but please wait 7 to 10 days after your return was accepted before calling.

Are they expecting IRS to use the autopay bank account for EIP direct deposit? Don't count on that. I had client that did autopay but I had to enter bank info at Get My Payment portal.
I have seen a few complaints about payments not happening, I know one person checked back and the payment did end up debiting, it was just later than scheduled date.....so its only been a week+/- since it was scheduled, Im betting it will eventually happen.
They could owe $10 million for 2012 through 2019 and they would still get their stimulus check. Thank them for asking, tell them "economic impact" (no stimulus here) payments can't be applied to taxes owed, and then to go away and leave you alone.
